About

Web Tastings is a blog about Web 2.0 and knowledge management for agriculture and rural development and will reflect on the usefulness and impact of the social web and its tools and approaches on development cooperation. You will find reviews of tools, books, events and other noteworthy news on this blog.

The idea to this blog was born during one of our joint coffee breaks, but really has its origins in work we did for IFPRI and CAPRi and presented at the Web2forDev Conference in Rome in September 2007.

  1. Pete and Stephan, hello! From our blog I could not find an email address or a way to get in touch, but I wanted to connect. I studied rural sociology in college (believe it or not), and am very interested in your topic. I want to give you a few Twitter IDs to follow and engage on the subject. It’s bubbling up slowly, but the tool could be incredibly powerful for this area of work, and I LOVE that you guys are doing 2.0 for ag & rural dev.

  2. Hello Pete! Hello Stephan!
I am glad that I found your interesting blog. I am studying Knowledge Management and Organisation Development and do research in KM-Methods and Tools for intercultural Knowledge-Transfers in development policy programms/organisations (f.e. Worldbank or GTZ/Germany). I strongly believe that the main success criterias are -> the 2-ways knowledge-flow (cycle) and the properly focused and adressed intercultural communication aspects. it would be great to exchange ideas and good practices with you!
